A Short stroll across down the drive and across the road you'll find Foel Friog picnic site off the beaten track on the banks of the river Dulas (which you can hear from the Lodge).  It's a great place to sit and listen to the sheep and the birds.  There are picnic benches and a car park. There is a large flat grassy area for children to play and a rocky outcrop.

DYFI DISTILLERY

The multi award winning, nationally renowned, Dyfi Gin Distillery is well worth a visit. Located in the Corris Craft Centre, they produce artisan gin, voted best Gin at the Great British Food Awards 2018. They use local welsh botanicals and distill in small batches. Run by two brothers Pete and Danny. You can see them hard at work, chat to the family and sample the gins you can buy to take home.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

The ClimachX was built in 2005 and is sited in the Dyfi forest on the doorstep of Fronwen. It's one of the best purpose built trails in the country. The full route is a 15km round trip, with 9km of built single track with compressions and whoops, rock slab drop offs and some beautiful flowing turns. The last descent is one of the longest in Wales and features rocky jumps. The finale is a sequence of eight huge berms following quickly after each other. Hit them high enough and fast enough and they ride really well, but don't look down!    www.dyfimountainbiking.org.uk
